Packaging School Licensing: Why It Matters

What does it mean to be licensed?

We are a licensed postsecondary institution. This means that through the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education we have undergone an abundance of steps to provide our students with educational security. We pride ourselves on building our foundations amongst high ethical standards to provide a quality education to our students. This license facilitates the execution of that specification.

What is the process to obtain a license?

The overall purpose of this process is to prove that we are a well-founded company that is authorized to effectively educate our students. During this procedure we demonstrated that we are financially stable while also validating that as a business we are bonded. Bonding benefits you as a student by protecting you in the instance that a certificate school were to abruptly close up shop. We also had to provide proof that our instructors and curriculum are legitimate. Down the road there is an annual review process that entails a thorough screening of our records to indicate if we are performing business in the ways that we claimed we would. In totality this license took about a year and a half to obtain. While not always the easiest, undergoing this process is very worthwhile for our community of packaging students and partners.

What does this licensing mean to you as a student?

As a student you’re investing your time and money, so it’s very important to make sure that the certificate program you choose is licensed. Gaining a certificate through a licensed school not only makes your certificate more valuable, but much more reputable as well. If you obtain a certificate from a school with suspicious or no licensing employers will likely question the validity of your certificate and job potential.
